Every child in our school from Reception to Year 6 are part of a school House team.  This provides them with a sense of belonging and helps to promote our community ethos.

We often use the house teams when grouping children for different activities and for sporting competitions. We like the children to have coloured House t-shirts so that they can be identified and easily grouped in lessons as well as other events such as Partnership Sports and Sports Days. Our supplier for school uniform, Smiths Schoolwear in Cockfosters, currently stock PE t-shirts in the four house team colours: red, blue, yellow, green.

Each house is linked to a different vulnerable or endangered animal:

  • Red – Giraffes
  • Blue – Rhinos
  • Yellow – Lions
  • Green – Zebras

All staff working within the school are also allocated to a house.

How We Are Elected

House and Sports Captains are elected democratically by the children in their House at the start of each academic year. Each child who wishes to nominate themselves will write and deliver a speech outlining what they can offer their House. All children in Years 1-6 vote for their House and Sports Captains who will stand for the academic year. Where possible, we aim to elect one boy and one girl House and Sport Captain for each House.
