Uniform
The school believes that there is value in a school uniform – it helps children to be proud of their school and to share a sense of belonging. School uniform may be purchased from either ‘Lee-Joy’, High Street Potters Bar, Herts. EN6 5AT Tel: 01707 664505, or Smiths Schoolwear Cockfosters Branch, 25, Station Parade, Cockfosters Road, EN4 0DW Tel: 020 8381 3622 www.smithsschoolwear.co.uk
From September the children will be expected to wear:-
All children: Black shoes, navy cagoule, coat or anorak. NAMED coats must be brought into school daily. A plastic painting apron is essential to protect clothes from active learning.
Winter: Grey trousers, skirt, or tunic; white polo shirt with school logo; navy v-necked jumper with school logo or cardigan with school logo; white or grey socks or navy or grey tights and black shoes – not slip on ‘ballet style’, because these slip off too easily.
Summer uniform grey shorts; white polo shirt with logo; NAVY gingham dress; navy v-necked jumper with school logo or cardigan with school logo; sensible flat-heeled (toe covered) sandals. Strappy sandals or ‘jellies’ should not be worn, as these are dangerous on our many stairs. When buying shoes for school, please ensure that they have a good grip and will support the children’s feet.
Sun: Children should wear sun-hats in the playground, or field, in hot weather – please ensure that these are white or navy and clearly named. You are welcome to apply sunscreen to your child before they come to school, but please do not send the screen in to school, in case another child picks it up and has an allergic reaction.
Long hair should be tied back with a navy hairband or ribbon. Children should not wear nail varnish.
Children in KS2 may wear a formal white shirt. This must be worn with the top button done up and a school tie. Please ensure that the shirt is big enough for the top button to be done up comfortably and that your child is able to fasten the button.
The school welcomes any good quality out-grown uniform and will pass this on to other pupils.
